Famous ZigZag house in Florida is on the market for $3M. See why it’s so beloved

If you live near the Sarasota area in Florida, you’ve probably laid eyes on the architectural wonder that is the famous ZigZag house. Now, it can be yours for $3 million.

The midcentury-modern design was the brainchild of architect Ralph Twitchell and was named after “its distinctive sawtooth roofline,” the listing on Realtor.com says.

Completed in 1959, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom home underwent a full, multistage renovation in 2019, a renovation that was recognized by the American Institute of Architects and the American Registered Architects.

Along with its open spaces and many floor-to-ceiling windows, the 3,400-square-foot home has cool amenities that are worth noting including:

  • Media room

  • Open-concept kitchen

  • Saltwater pool

  • Zen garden

According to Dirt, the home is owned by Roberto and Clare Arguedas, who bought it in 2014. The couple is responsible for bringing the work of architectural art back to life with the renovation, which included expanding most of the rooms, window replacement, new landscaping, electrical wiring and more.
