Naked and hungry burglar breaks into home to eat eggs and flan, California police say

A Desert Hot Springs family said a man broke into their home and was found making scrambled eggs and eating flan, according to News Channel 3.

On Tuesday, the residents heard “long bangs and clattering” and found a man cooking in the kitchen, the outlet reported. They said he was cooking eggs and using ham, ranch dressing and flan.

The family said that they called the police and didn’t notice that the suspect was “naked at the time or if he took off his pants later,” according to the Desert Sun.

“I would’ve been mad if I made flan and he ate it,” Melanie Rivera, 19, who was at home, told the outlet. The flan was apparently “store-bought.”

Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station deputies said the man refused to leave the house, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department release.

Carl Cimino, 61, of Desert Hot Springs was arrested “with the use of a police service dog” and taken to a hospital, the release read. Cimino was charged with residential burglary and booked into jail.
