Fort Worth police are still looking for a teenage boy who was seen shooting at dogs with what appeared to be a gel blaster gun earlier this month, and they’re asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The shooting happened on April 4 in the 4000 block of Cane River Road in far north Fort Worth. A Ring surveillance camera filmed the teen following two dogs down the street and firing at them. One of the dogs ran off while the other cowered under a vehicle parked in the resident’s driveway.

Gel blaster guns shoot small, round water-based pellets that resemble paintball pellets. In the video footage, you can hear the pellets pinging off the garage door as the teen shot at the dog in the driveway.

The shooter was dressed in black pants and a gray T-shirt, with a gray sweatshirt draped over his shoulder.

Police were called to the scene that day and took a report, but they have yet to find the teen or the dogs. A police spokesman said this week that a detective is assigned to the case. But a criminal investigation cannot continue unless the shooter and animals are identified.

The spokesman said the area’s neighborhood police officer has spoken with residents to try and find the young man in order to speak with him and his parents. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police.
