Two dogs rescued from Fort Worth house fire; home severely damaged
Two dogs were rescued from a westside Fort Worth house fire early Wednesday, officials said.
The Fort Worth Fire Department received multiple calls about 2 a.m. regarding a fire at a home in the 5000 block of Dilworth Street, the fire department said in a social media post.
When the firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from a carport that were quickly spreading to the attached one-story home, and the crew began fighting the blaze, the fire department said.
Firefighters found two dogs inside the home, with one requiring immediate medical attention and oxygen on scene for smoke inhalation, officials said.
“Thankfully, firefighters were able to save the dog and reunite both with their owners,” the department said.
The fire was under control within 15 minutes, but the home was severely damaged, officials said.
The American Red Cross provided emergency assistance, and no injuries were reported, according to the post.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, the department said.
