Crash involving tow truck closes northbound I-35W at Texas 170 in Fort Worth

All northbound lanes of Interstate 35W were closed at Texas 170 in far north Fort Worth on Tuesday afternoon because of a crash involving a tow truck, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

According to a Fort Worth police call log, the crash was reported about 3:20 p.m., when a tow truck crashed into a pole in the northbound traffic lanes on I-35W.

The tow truck driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Drivers on their evening commute had to seek alternate routes, TxDOT said in a post on X about 4 p.m. Tuesday. All lanes reopened about 6:15 p.m.
