The driver immediately stopped and called 911, police said.

The person in the wheelchair was pronounced dead at the scene and will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office after the next of kin have been notified.

The driver, who has not been publicly identified, was evaluated and did not show signs of intoxication, police said.

Police said the driver was arrested on unrelated misdemeanor and felony warrants.
