Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a motorcyclist was struck and killed on Interstate 35W near downtown Fort Worth early Saturday, police said.

Officers responded to the southbound lanes of I-35W before East Belknap Street about 2:45 a.m. The motorcycle crashed after being hit by a pickup truck, police said. The rider was thrown off the motorcycle and struck by at least one other vehicle.

In an update on Tuesday, Fort Worth police released a description of the pickup truck that left the scene after it rear-ended the motorcycle. Investigators said it was a late 1990s to early 2000s Chevrolet single-cab pickup truck with a charcoal gray or primer black color.

The FWPD Traffic Investigation Unit is seeking help to identify the driver of the pickup. You can contact a detective at 817-392-4869.

The motorcyclist died at the scene and will be publicly identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.

The southbound lanes of I-35W at Pharr Street were shut down for a time while police investigated the fatal crash.
