Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo 2026: Everything you need to know
It’s nearly time for the 129th-annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.
Since 1896, the event celebrating Western culture, cowboys and agriculture has brought millions of people to Fort Worth from around the world. The 23-day event is Jan. 16 to Feb. 7 at Dickies Arena and Will Rogers Memorial Center.
There’s plenty to do and see, from daily rodeos and live music to cattle shows and merchandise galore. More than 30,000 animals will be on exhibit during the event, and about 2,000 horses will march through downtown during the annual parade Jan. 17.
Visitors can attend shows for cattle, swine, goats, sheep, horses, donkeys and poultry. There are also junior versions of the shows with youth competitions.
There will also be plenty of livestock auctions open to the public. Last year, the Junior Steer Show Grand Champion sold for $375,000 to Shane Vaden, owner of Vaden’s Drywall, Plaster and Masonry in Fort Worth.
Students from various school programs like 4-H and Future Farmers of America will flood the Stock Show competing in meat and dairy cattle judging, among other events. College students will also compete in meat, livestock and dairy cattle judging.
You may even spot a celebrity or two at the Stock Show.
A few years ago, “Yellowstone” star Cole Hauser and co-creator Taylor Sheridan greeted fans at the Stock Show. While “Yellowstone” is over, Sheridan’s “Landman” is on its second season and is filmed primarily in Fort Worth.
FWSSR spokesperson Matt Brockman said he’s not aware of any celebrity appearances tied to those shows this year.
Here’s a guide for everything you need to know about the Stock Show & Rodeo.
