One woman dead, one injured in shooting in north Fort Worth, police say

One woman was killed and another was injured in a shooting Thursday night in north Fort Worth, police said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 2500 block of Northwest 24th Street about 6:30 p.m., according to a news release.

When they arrived, the officers found the two victims inside a home. One woman sustained a gunshot wound to her upper body and died at the scene. She was identified as 40-year-old Elizabeth Ann Juarez by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The other woman was shot in the lower body and was taken to a hospital. She is expected to survive, police said.

No arrests have been made. Homicide investigators had not identified a suspect Thursday night, police said.
