Two women were seriously injured in a shooting during a home invasion in south Fort Worth Wednesday night, police said.

Police responded to the home in the 200 block of Beechgrove Terrace about 7:20 p.m., according to a statement.

The suspect, identified in jail records as 32-year-old Christopher Ukeith Mike, had broken into the home prior to the shooting and waited for the victims to arrive, a police spokesperson said.

The victims were taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition, according to the statement.

Mike was arrested and booked into the city jail on Thursday. He faces charges of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury against a person with whom he had a dating or family relationship, burglary of a habitation, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.

Bond has not been set, and it’s unclear whether he has a defense attorney.
