A Fort Worth family is living in temporary housing after a suspected drunken driver crashed into their home, damaging their 2-year-old’s nursery on Saturday night.

The crash was one of several recent incidents in which drivers were arrested after their vehicles hit houses and buildings across Fort Worth. A couple of the drivers were reportedly fleeing from police in nearby North Texas cities.

Car crashes into 2-year-old’s nursery

A suspected drunken driver, 27-year-old Alianna Batista Hernandez, was speeding when she drove into a house in the 1700 block of Steinburg Lane, in south Fort Worth, about 8 p.m. on June 21, Fort Worth police said.

Hernandez’s car collided into Marseya Ochoa’s family home, according to a police report. The mother posted videos of the crash and its aftermath on TikTok.

No one was injured. Not even the driver. She was (allegedly) intoxicated on multiple substances and on her way to work. Our family was on the other side of house (living room and dining room) away. My toddler was watching ms Rachel on the couch 4 feet away from where our entry way table flew to.

After a field sobriety test was performed, Hernandez, who was the only person in the car, was placed under arrest. She faces a charge of driving while intoxicated.

The car tore through the 2-year-old boy’s nursery and blew through a supporting wall, a friend who organized a GoFundMe for the family wrote. The car didn’t stop until it almost reached the living room.

The toddler’s furniture, toys and clothes were all destroyed, according to the GoFundMe. Luckily, no one was injured.

“Their baby hadn’t gone down for bed yet. If he had, we’d be telling a very different story right now,” the post says.

Ochoa’s 13-year-old brother is staying with the family for the summer in a guest bedroom that was torn open. The teen was just feet from where the car came crashing through the wall, the friend wrote.

“They are doing their best to stay strong for their child and for their younger brothers, but the cost of recovery is overwhelming. Insurance is moving slowly. Legal steps are underway. But this family needs real help now,” according to the post.

Teen faces reckless driving charge

On Sunday, June 22, about 10 p.m. another car that was driving at a high rate of speed crashed into a home in the Walsh neighborhood in far west Fort Worth, police said.

Police said investigators determined that several vehicles were driving recklessly in the area and one of them hit the house in the 14500 block of Capridge Road.

The driver, 17-year-old Brandon Burbach, was arrested and faces a charge of reckless driving, police said.
