Wrong-way driver on I-35 kills one early Sunday in Fort Worth, police say
A person was killed by a wrong way driver in Fort Worth on Sunday, June 22, police said.
Officers responded to a major accident about 1 a.m. at the intersection Interstate 35W and Berry Street.
When officers arrived they found that two vehicles were involved a crash. Investigators determined that a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-35 collided with another vehicle, police said.
The vehicle traveling wrong way was occupied only by the driver and other vehicle had two people, police said.
The passenger of the vehicle that was struck by the wrong-way driver was pronounced dead on scene, police said.
Police said the drivers of both vehicles were taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The Traffic Investigations Unit has been notified and is investigating the circumstances of the accident, police said.
The person who died will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office.
