Confrontation results in person being dragged, hurt in Fort Worth hit-and-run

A person was seriously injured in a hit-and-run early Saturday morning in Fort Worth, officials with the Fort Worth Police Department said.

Officers responded to the hit-and-run in an area near Angle Avenue and Macie Avenue at around 2:09 a.m., according to a statement.

The victim was intoxicated and had attempted to fight the driver of the suspect vehicle before being dragged down the street and then hit by the vehicle, police said. The driver fled the scene without rendering aid and has not been arrested.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition and the Fort Worth Police Department’s Crash Investigations Unit will handle the investigation, police said.
