Police investigating fatal shooting of 21-year-old man in east Fort Worth
Police are investigating a shooting that killed a 21-year-old man and injured two other people in a residential neighborhood in east Fort Worth on Sunday afternoon, May 25.
Officers responded to the fatal shooting in the 4200 block of Carmel Avenue about 3 p.m., according to the 911 call log.
When officers arrived, they found one of the shooting victims, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as Alvion Ferrell Norris.
Norris was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The other two people who were wounded took themselves to a hospital before officers arrived, police said in a news release. Their condition was unknown.
Homicide detectives determined that the shooting victims were in parked car when the gunman walked up and had a brief conversation with them. The suspect pulled out a handgun and fired into the car, shooting all three people, police said.
The victim who was later pronounced dead got out of the car and tried to run away, but he collapsed on the ground, according to the release. The two surviving victims drove themselves to the hospital.
The suspect ran away after the shooting, police said, and has not been arrested.
