73-year-old pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in south Fort Worth, police say

A 73-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in south Fort Worth late Friday, May 9, police said.

Officers were called to the 3400 block of North Crowley Cleburne Road shortly after 11:15 p.m. A vehicle hit a man who was was standing in the street, according to police.

The injured man was taken to a hospital, where he died, officials said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified him as Billy Ray Jones.

Detectives with the Traffic Investigations Unit are looking into the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
