Police investigating after dead body found on Fort Worth highway, officials say
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a person whose body was found on a Fort Worth highway early Monday, May 5, officials said.
Fort Worth officers were called to 6619 N.W. Loop 820 shortly after 6:45 a.m. for an investigation. The Lake Worth Police Department told them that someone had been found dead on the road.
The victim may have been hit by a vehicle that left the scene, according to police. So far no witnesses have come forward.
Detectives from the Fort Worth Police Traffic Investigations Unit are handling the case, police said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the victim and determine their cause of death.
