Driver dies after crashing into police car Saturday night in south Fort Worth

A driver was killed after hitting a police car at the scene of another crash on Saturday night, April 19, in south Fort Worth, police said.

Around 11:30 p.m., a police patrol vehicle was parked in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35W near Ripy Street to control traffic after another accident.

The person who was killed hit the patrol vehicle from behind and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said no officers were injured.

The driver who died will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office.
