While the winter storm may have moved on, its impacts on Fort Worth trash pick up have lingered.

The city canceled yard waste pick up for Jan. 9 and 10 to dedicate more resources to garbage and recycling.

While the city was still able to run trucks on Jan. 9, not everyone got their garbage picked up. The city is instructing those residents to leave their cans on the curb for trucks to come pick up on Friday, Jan. 10.

For those residents with Friday trash pickup, you’ll have to wait one more day. The city will run its Friday, Jan. 10 routes on Saturday, Jan. 11, according to a page on the city’s website.

Normal pickup schedules are expected to resume on Monday, Jan. 13, according to city website.

If you can’t wait to get your garbage picked up, the city’s four drop-off stations and environmental collection center (for things like cooking oil, old paint, and cleaning supplies) are open till 4 p.m. on Jan. 10. That could change depending on the weather, but as of 9:50 a.m. on Jan. 10, all systems are go.
