Medical examiner identifies man whose body was found in Trinity River in Fort Worth

A man’s body was recovered from the Clear Fork of the Trinity River in Fort Worth on Wednesday night, Oct. 23, according to police.

Officers responded to a call about a man seen in the water about 6:50 p.m.

First responders pulled the man out of the river near the intersection of Watercourse Drive and Arborlawn Drive, police said. They attempted CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:17 p.m.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Mark Knowles, 66, of Fort Worth. An autopsy will be conducted to determine Knowles’ cause of death.

Police said they don’t know why the man was in the river, and the investigation is continuing.
