Weddings come in all shapes and sizes due to budgetary reasons, whether that be in ballrooms or courthouses.

Typically, wedding season starts in early summer and ends in late fall, according to The Knot. Not everybody can officiate weddings in Texas. Instead, only a select few are allowed by law.

A recent study by JJ’s House, a wedding dress outfitter, states that Weatherford is the “second cheapest city” to get married in the country.

Weatherford, about 28 miles west of Fort Worth, ranks second on the study for a total wedding cost of $17,165. Weatherford’s low cost of attire and accessories ($1,146) and invitations ($215) are why the Parker County city is affordable.

JJ’s House analyzed expense data from Wedding Report, a wedding statistics website, to complete the study. Key cost factors in the study include renting a wedding venue, attire and accessories, catering, entertainment and more.

The only city cheaper than Weatherford is Kansas City, Missouri, which holds a total cost of $16,204, per the study.
