Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle on I-35W toll lanes near downtown Fort Worth: police
A man was fatally struck by a vehicle on the Interstate 35W toll lanes near downtown Fort Worth early Tuesday, officials said.
Officers responded to a major accident in the I-35W TEXpress southbound lanes near Belknap Street shortly before 4:30 a.m., according to police records. A 911 caller reported that a pedestrian had been hit.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and MedStar. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the man.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. The Traffic Investigation Unit is leading the investigation into the fatal accident.
All lanes of traffic have re-opened after being closed earlier this morning following the crash.
