Body of man found floating in Trinity River near downtown Fort Worth, police say

Fort Worth police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found floating in the Trinity River near downtown Tuesday morning, officials said.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of North Main and North Commerce streets around 7:15 a.m. after getting a call about a body in the river.

Homicide detectives are investigating the death, police said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death and will identify the man pending notification of his next-of-kin.
