34-year Fort Worth fire lieutenant killed in off-duty motorcycle accident

A lieutenant with the Fort Worth Fire Department died Saturday after being in a motorcycle accident while off-duty, fire officials announced on social media.

Lt. Garey Pugh, 56, served the city for 34 years, according to the fire department.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this incredibly difficult time,” the department’s post read.

Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church at 3732 Miller Ave. in Fort Worth. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Doxology Bible Church, 4805 Arborlawn Drive.
