Pedestrian killed on Loop 820 while trying to flee hit-and-run scene: Fort Worth police

The driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident was fatally struck Friday night while trying to cross Loop 820 on foot, Fort Worth police said.

Officers responded to 2110 Northwest Loop 820 Freeway shortly after 8 p.m. after a caller reported someone had been hit on the highway. Police said they determined the person had been driving a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident.

The driver exited the vehicle and died after being hit by multiple vehicles while trying to leave the scene, officials said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner hasn’t publicly identified the person. It’s not clear if anyone was injured in the original hit-and-run crash.
