Two killed in deadly Interstate 30 crash in east Fort Worth identified by medical examiner
The two people killed in Monday’s fatal accident on Interstate 30 in east Fort Worth have been identified by the medical examiner.
Charles Wesley Rackley, 53, and Melissa Anne Lauman, 44, died from blunt force injuries, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. Rackley and Lauman died at the scene of the accident, police said.
Officers responded to the crash at the intersection of eastbound Interstate 30 and Cooks Lane around 12:30 a.m. Monday. Three vehicles — a Chevrolet pickup truck, a Cadillac and a motorcycle — were involved in the accident, but details of their involvement are still being investigated, according to police.
Rackley and Lauman died as a result of being hit by at least one vehicle, but it wasn’t clear whether they were operating one of the vehicles. Two other people were injured in the accident and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, officials said.
Traffic Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the collision. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call 817–392-4886.
This is the second fatal accident involving multiple vehicles in a week. On Sept. 11, four people were killed in a pileup collision on Interstate 35W.
