Terminal E at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport was evacuated Friday afternoon due to a technical error, officials said.

The terminal, which has 38 gates, reopened shortly before 2 p.m.

“A message was erroneously activated inside Terminal E asking passengers to leave the building,” airport officials posted on social media around 12:30 p.m. “There is no emergency.”

Other terminals were operating normally, officials said, and the Transportation Security Administration re-screened passengers who had been assigned to Terminal E.

American Airlines, United Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Frontier Airlines and Delta are some of the airlines that fly in and out of Terminal E, according to the DFW Airport website.

The flight tracker Flight Aware reported nearly 270 delayed flights for DFW Airport as of 1:45 p.m., including 20 Delta, eight Frontier and four United. It wasn’t clear if the delays were caused by the evacuation.
