Fort Worth apartment building under construction burns down; no injuries, fire dept says
An apartment complex under construction in southwest Fort Worth burned down, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department. No one was injured.
At around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to the fire in the 7100 block of Trail Lake Drive.
Upon arrival, crews found the developing apartment complex ablaze. They immediately called for a second alarm response and began attacking the fire defensively, according to Fort Worth fire officials.
Strong winds created an additional hazard as embers from the fire spread to tree lines and neighboring buildings.
“Thankfully, firefighters were able to control those exposures and they were all spared heavy damage,” the Fort Worth Fire Department said in a Facebook post.
Crews were able to get the fire under control in about an hour.
No one was injured. The complex had no residents because the building was still under construction.
