A woman was killed and a man critically injured when they were hit by an SUV near the Clearfork shopping center in Fort Worth on Thursday night, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Edwards Ranch Road and Marathon Avenue around 10:30 p.m. regarding a major accident. An SUV traveling southbound on Edwards Ranch Road hit two pedestrians who were crossing the road among two groups of people at the intersection, police said.

A man and woman were taken to local hospitals in critical condition. The woman later died from her injuries. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified her as Patricia Carla Rogers, 63, of Colleyville.

The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene, police said, and cooperated with the investigation. It’s not clear if the driver will face charges.

The Traffic Investigation Unit will investigate the accident, officials said.
