Mayfest 2022 in Fort Worth’s Trinity Park returns this weekend after two-year hiatus
For the first time in two years — and just in time for its 50th anniversary — Mayfest is back in Fort Worth.
The four-day family festival canceled events in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Mayfest is back at Trinity Park starting Thursday and running through Sunday. The festival is produced by the nonprofit Trinity Collaborative Inc.
This year marks a special occasion as Mayfest celebrates 50 years. On Thursday, Fort Worth leaders and supporters of Mayfests past will recognize the organizers who have grown the festival, incuding with a parade.
From humble beginning in 1973 as a way to celebrate the revitalization of the Trinity River, the festival now attracts over 200,000 people on 33 acres in Trinity Park.
