Storms may bring hail, tornadoes Monday night in Dallas-Fort Worth, NWS says

Thunderstorms with hail and possible tornadoes are forecast Monday evening in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will be cloudy, warm and breezy throughout the day, and storms will likely start to develop out west near Eastland County at about 5 p.m. or 6 p.m., said meteorologist Steve Fano with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

By about 8 p.m., severe storms will move east into the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The main threats with the storms are potential large hail, strong winds and isolated tornadoes, Fano said.

The severe weather should continue until about midnight on Monday.

The greatest threat for severe weather will be roughly along and north of Interstate 20.
