Medical examiner identifies man killed in Fort Worth rollover crash on Loop 820

One person died after a car accident in southeast Fort Worth on Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred around 5 p.m., near the 4400 block of East Loop 820 South.

“An adult male was driving erratically at a high rate of speed northbound on the roadway when he lost control of his vehicle,” police said. “The vehicle rolled over an embankment and came to rest on the service road. The driver was ejected and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased driver as Jonathan Watkins, 28, of Burleson.

The freeway has since reopened. The northbound service road at Wilbarger was closed Wednesday night.

The investigation remains ongoing.
