Fall Japanese Festival at Botanic Garden features authentic entertainment, crafts, food

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s 31st Fall Japanese Festival, featuring authentic Japanese entertainment, crafts and food, is set for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The festival is organized in partnership with the Fort Worth Japanese Society, which ensures the event is true to Japanese Culture, said Pam Grimes, directer of sales and events.

Entertainment will include Taiko drummers, traditional dancers and an authentic Japanese tea ceremony, she said. Arts and crafts along with food trucks and concessions will also be at the festival.

Grimes said they expect anywhere between 4,000-8,000 people to attend the two-day event.

“It is one of our most popular events because it’s been around so long and has history behind it,” she said.

Admission fee is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for children ages 6-15 years old, according to the Botanic Garden’s website. Tickets can be purchased on eventbrite, which can be accessed on the website.

Free parking will be available at 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd. and 3408 West Freeway. The website also lists additional free parking at Christ Chapel Bible Church on 3701 Birchman Ave.

A $20 per car paid parking option will be at the Chevrolet Garage at Dickies Arena, located at 3464 Trail Drive.
