Motorcyclist going wrong way struck, killed by car on Lake Worth highway, police say

A motorcyclist was killed early Monday after he drove the wrong way on a highway and was hit by a car in Lake Worth, police said.

The man who died was Jerricho J. Greely, 29, of Haltom City, according to officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The incident was reported at 2:45 a.m. at the eastbound Loop 820 cloverleaf and Texas 199 in Lake Worth.

Lake Worth police reported on social media that officers and investigators were on the scene of a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian.

Police later said the pedestrian was a motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was going eastbound on westbound Texas 199 when his vehicle was hit by a car, Lake Worth Police Chief J.T. Manoushagian said Monday.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The area was shut down for several hours as authorities investigated the fatal crash..
