Man shot in upper torso as he sat at bus stop in south Fort Worth, police say

A man shot another man in the upper torso while the victim was sitting at a bus stop in south Fort Worth early Thursday morning, police said.

Police weren’t immediately able to describe the condition of the victim. It was also unclear how the two men knew each other, though police spokesperson Officer Buddy Calzada noted in an email they “have been having problems with each other for a while.”

He said he couldn’t describe their relationship. “This was all the information that has been shared with our office as it is being actively investigated,” Calzada said.

Officers responded to the shooting call at the intersection of East Robert Street and South Riverside Drive around 6:55 a.m. Thursday, police said. The caller indicated a man who had been shot was lying on the ground, according to a police call log.

Police determined the suspect saw the other man sitting at a bus stop when he decided to shoot him. He then fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

He was at large Thursday morning.
