Gunshot victim walked into Fort Worth fire station after shooting, police say
A 39-year-old man was in serious condition Wednesday morning after being shot in a west Fort Worth neighborhood, authorities said.
Minutes after the shooting, the victim showed up at Fire Station 16 in the 5900 block of Geddes Avenue., Fort Worth police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital.
The shooting was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. at a home in the 5600 block of Humbert Avenue.
A caller reported four shots fired and said a son who was sleeping on couch had been wounded.
The caller said the victim was on his way to the hospital, according to a police call log.
The victim was driving to a hospital, but he stopped at the fire station, police said.
Police believe the gunman was in a red Chevrolet Impala, which was last seen westbound on Humbert Avenue.
