Man, 73, dies after being pulled from fire in multi-family home in southeast Fort Worth
A man pulled Sunday from a fire in a southeast Fort Worth house in which there was a warren of rooms later died and was identified Monday by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Sammy Brown, 73, was pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital about an hour after firefighters found him about 5:15 a.m. in the house converted to a multi-family residence in the 3200 block of Knox Street. The cause and manner of his death were not released.
The Fort Worth Fire Department has not released the cause of the fire or the location of its origin inside the residence.
“This is an ongoing investigation and there is no new information we are prepared to release at this time,” fire department spokesman Michael Drivdahl wrote Monday night in an email.
The building was previously a single-family household, the department has said, and was similar to a maze after the conversion.
