Man found dead on the ground after 2 shots heard in southeast Fort Worth, police say

A man was found dead on the ground in southeast Fort Worth early Thursday morning after a caller in the area reported hearing two gunshots, police said.

The man, whose identity wasn’t released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Units were dispatched to the 3700 block of Forbes Street around 3:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting, police said. As the caller’s husband stepped outside, the caller said they both heard two gunshots and dogs barking, according to a police call log.

They saw a man in a red shirt lying in their driveway, the call log indicates. The caller didn’t feel comfortable approaching the man.

No arrests had been made in connection with the shooting as of Thursday morning.

No further information on the shooting is known at this time, police said.

An investigation is underway led by homicide detectives.
