18-year-old murder suspect arrested in weekend shooting death of Fort Worth teen

An 18-year-old was taken into custody just before noon Tuesday in connection with the weekend shooting death of another teen on North Main Street, according to jail records.

Jesus Diaz was booked into the Fort Worth Jail at 11:06 a.m. on a charge of murder, according to jail records.

Diaz is accused of being involved in the early Sunday shooting that left 17-year-old Alejandro S. Garcia dead.

Fort Worth police have not released any information on a motive for the shooting.

At 12:13 a.m. Sunday, Fort Worth police were dispatched to the 1400 block of North Main Street in response to a shooting call. They found Garcia, who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

He had suffered a gunshot wound to his head, authorities said.

Garcia died at 10:09 a.m. Sunday at the hospital.
