Teen drives into Fort Worth hotel building, woman staying in room seriously injured

A hotel guest was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when a truck which had been doing donuts in a street smashed into the north end of the hotel building, Fort Worth police said.

The driver of the truck, a teenager, was taken into custody after the incident. Fort Worth police believe the teen may have been in a stolen truck.

He was taken into custody after a witness alerted police that he had gone into a room at a nearby hotel.

The crash was reported shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Tanacross Drive.

Witnesses told police the teen was doing donuts in the street with the truck when the vehicle struck a car. The teen then drove across the street and hit the north end of the HomeTowne Suites building and drove into a room.

A woman in the room was seriously injured, police said. She was taken to a local hospital.

The building sustained damage, but police said it was in no danger of collapsing.

The teen was tracked to a room in a nearby motel, police said.

When confronted by authorities, the teen admitted to what he did and was arrested without incident.
