Street racing crash leaves man dead, another critically injured on Fort Worth street

A vehicle racing with another car Sunday night crashed, killing a man and critically injuring another person on a Fort Worth street, police said Monday.

The victim’s name had not been released as of Monday.

The crash was reported shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of N. University Drive.

Fort Worth police believe two vehicles were racing and traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver of one vehicle lost control. That vehicle crashed.

A passenger in the wrecked car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of that vehicle was taken to a local hospital and he was in custody.

Police did not release any information on the second vehicle.

Fort Worth police continued on Monday to investigate the wreck
