Man shot twice in Fort Worth reported friend took him to ATM at gunpoint, police say
A man who was shot twice in the stomach on Tuesday morning said his friend had taken him to an ATM in Fort Worth at gunpoint and the two fought in the vehicle, according to police.
The victim is reportedly in stable condition.
The suspect is at large.
A man called police around 6:10 a.m. to report his son had been shot, according to the department. Officers spoke with the victim, who informed them his friend forced him to go to the ATM after he mentioned he had some money, police said.
The friend took him to an ATM in east Fort Worth at gunpoint, and when he refused to get the money, they fought inside the car, police said.
The suspect shot the victim twice in the abdomen, police said.
The victim fled home in his vehicle and was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
The robbery unit is investigating the incident, police said.
