Messy days ahead as weather forecasters call for showers, storms in North Texas

It’s going to rain, rain and rain.

And some storms could bring small hail and damaging winds, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

For the next five days, there are chances for showers and thunderstorms in North Texas.

“The potential for flooding will be there,” said meteorologist Patricia Sanchez with the NWS in Fort Worth in a telephone interview with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The threat of severe storms also will exist.

Tarrant County residents got a small taste of it Friday morning when forecasters issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northeast Tarrant County and other nearby counties. No significant damage was reported.

Here are the rain chances for the next several days:

Saturday, 60 percent

Sunday, 70 percent

Monday, 60 percent

Tuesday, 70 percent

Wednesday, 70 percent

Thursday, 80 percent
