2 residents, 2 firefighters injured in Fort Worth apartment complex fire

Two firefighters and two residents were injured early Wednesday in an apartment fire in southwest Fort Worth, fire officials said.

A woman suffered a possible broken leg when she jumped out of a window during the fire, and another resident reported having chest pains.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries during the fire and they were taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, said fire department spokesman Mike Drivdahl on Wednesday. Details on their injuries were not available.

The fire was reported about 1 a.m. in the 4100 block of Southwest Loop 820 at an apartment complex.

“There was heavy fire when crews arrived,” Drivdahl said. “Crews managed to contain the fire to four units.”

Flames were extinguished in about 40 minutes, fire officials said.

Four residents were displaced because of the blaze, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
