Police continued their search Monday for a gunman who opened fire on a woman as she drove on a highway in east Fort Worth.

The woman was hit in the upper leg during the Sunday morning shooting, and drove herself to a North Richland Hills hospital. Her condition was not available on Monday.

The shooting was reported shortly after 5:30 a.m. Sunday at Loop 820 and Trinity Boulevard.

The woman told police she had been in Dallas and driving in Fort Worth when an unknown vehicle started following her.

At some point, a gunman fired at her vehicle.
