The Main Street Arts Festival canceled all Saturday activities due to heavy rains, high winds and severe weather, organizers said.
Organizers said they chose to close the 34th annual festival on Saturday for the safety of the guests, artists and other festival attendees.
“This is not a decision we take lightly; however, our number one priority is the safety of all who are involved,” said Jay Downie, event producer for the festival. “We hope everyone stays home and stays safe today, and will come out tomorrow for a beautiful Sunday.”
Severe weather was predicted throughout the day Saturday, with storms hitting the area from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m.
