Have plans Saturday? Here’s when you need to worry about ‘round after round of storms’

It’s time to be outdoors, but once again forecasters are calling for another wet Saturday.

Anyone planning to be outside between 4 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday may need to change plans.

Rain is expected to start shortly before sunrise with storms continuing through the morning, said National Weather Service meteorologist Juan Hernandez.

“I think it’s going to be round after round of storms,” he said.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area could get up to an inch of rain. There is a slight chance for large hail, though the greatest severe threat will be in East Texas, where damaging winds and tornadoes are possible.

The Storm Prediction Center has listed Tarrant County as being under a marginal risk for severe weather while Dallas and Collin counties are under slight risk. Parts of northeast Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas are facing a moderate risk for severe storms.

The Homegrown Music and Arts Festival in downtown Dallas has shifted its outdoor concert at Main Street Garden to Sunday but will also have some performances indoors at the Kessler Theater on Saturday. TCU and Seton Hall’s baseball teams are playing a doubleheader Friday instead of trying to squeeze in a game on Saturday.

It will also be cool with Saturday’s high reaching around 60 degrees and Sunday morning’s low dipping to around 43. But Sunday skies will clear with a high around 67.
