She killed a man by driving over him twice, Fort Worth police say
A Fort Worth woman accused of driving over a man and killing him after a fight at a club was in custody Tuesday, facing a murder charge in the case.
The suspect is Laura Rosas, 33, of Forest Hill, who was booked into jail Monday night, according to Fort Worth Jail records.
Officials identified the victim as Emmanuel R. Ramirez, 30, of Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office website on Tuesday. An autopsy report is pending.
Officers responded to a call shortly before 2:30 a.m. Monday at 4200 South Freeway service road.
A group of people had been in a fight at the OK Corral, a popular Latin nightclub, earlier in the evening, police said.
Two women who had been involved in the fight were sitting in their car near the club when they saw the victim in the parking lot, police said. The victim also had been involved in the fight.
At some point, one of the women drove the car toward the victim, hitting and killing him, police said. She ran over him twice, police said.
The driver of the vehicle was later identified as Rosas.
No other injuries were reported.
Rosas was in the Tarrant County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $200,000 bail on the murder charge. She also was in jail on an immigration hold, according to jail records.
