Woman killed in wreck after car veers off highway, rolls several times, police say

A Forest Hill woman died Tuesday evening at a local hospital from injuries she suffered in a one-vehicle traffic crash on the South Freeway, police said.

The woman was identified as Sally Miller, 47, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office website on Wednesday. Miller was pronounced dead at 6:44 p.m. Tuesday at John Peter Smith Hospital.

The fatal accident was reported shortly after 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 6500 block of the South Freeway or Interstate 35W.

Witnesses told police a Mini Cooper was traveling northbound on the highway at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, veered off the highway and became airborne.

Upon landing, the vehicle rolled multiple times, police said.

Witnesses and police found a man and a woman who appeared to have been ejected. They were taken to a hospital.

Miller, who was identified as the woman in the car, died at the hospital while the man, who authorities did not identify, was in critical condition, police said.
