Child found dead in vehicle, mother injured in murder-attempted suicide, police say
A child was found dead in a parked vehicle Saturday afternoon and the mother of the child was rushed to a hospital in what Frisco police called a murder-attempted suicide.
The name of the child had not been released by authorities.
The child’s mother remained in the hospital Sunday in an unknown condition, Frisco police said in a news release.
Frisco police responded to a welfare call about 5:55 p.m. Saturday in the 15,200 block of Preachers Lane.
The child and woman were found in the vehicle. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Frisco police did not release any other details on Sunday.
In 2016, the body of a missing Frisco mother was found in the family’s SUV in a McKinney store parking lot. Her three children ages 1, 3 and 5 were alive in the SUV, but they were severely dehydrated.
