Man struck by train found dead in south Fort Worth by first responders

A man died after being struck by a Union Pacific train in south Fort Worth Friday.

The incident occurred about 8:15 a.m. in the 11100 block of Waybridge Way, police said.

A southbound train hit the man, who was on the rail bridge located over Deer Creek in Fort Worth, police said. Union Pacific personnel and emergency responders immediately responded to help, but the man died.



The accident is being investigated and it is unknown why the man was on the bridge, police said.

The victim was identified as Christopher Perigo. 29, of Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.
